Dr. Devesh Chaturvedi, Additional Chief Secretary (Agri.) along with a team of State Agriculture Department visited Natural Farming Complex of ICAR-CISH Rae Bareli Road Campus on 16th Nov 2022 to have an insight into the ongoing activities of cow based natural farming. Dr. Chaturvedi was welcomed Dr. D Pandey, (Acting Director) who apprised him about initiation of cow shed at the campus on 5th Feb 2022 after the call by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India for promotion of natural farming. He also explained that the institute has prepared research on organic farming for last 20 years. Dr. R. K. Pathak, ex-Director narrated various achievements of organic farming and biodynamic farming which hold the key to success in field of chemical less farming. He also explained the concept of cosmic nutrient management for sustaining crop yields and environment. Dr. SK Shukla gave a rapid tour of the natural farming complex explaining about production and use of various cow based organic inputs, organic nursery, mother blocks, importance of mulching and canopy management, use of various chemical less IPM modules for success of natural farming. The chief guest, Dr. Chaturvedi expressed his appreciation ongoing work on natural farming and directed the team from state department of agriculture to collaborate with the institute in capacity building of farmers while developing and promoting 3 clusters of villages for natural farming in mango, guava and aonla growing belts. He also directed that a new project be submitted immediately for funding towards promotion and adoption of technologies on larger scale. the visit was coordinated by Dr. Sushil Kumar Shukla and Dr. R.K. Pathak, Former Director, ICAR-CISH, Sh. R.S Dixit, Coordinator, UP Gau Sewa Aayog and Dr. Govind, Scientist (Microbiology) were some of the important visitors.
